a few years ago | Ithaca :
I was walking around when I saw a nice store with great artwork and antiques for sale. It’s a pity I don’t remember the owners’ name, because he was a marvelous artist. And suddenly I felt I was in love with the following picture. I didn’t know the man’s story till then. But I said to myself : This is how Ulysses should had felt while he was approaching home. And this is how everyone of us and all the Ulysses of the world will open the arms and will be surrendered to love.
“Ithaca gave you the nice trip”
His name was Savvas Georgiou, the first to cross the Atlantic ocean with a small sailing boat without engine in the summer of 1956, with the title: “The Voyage of the Hara”. You may search Google to get some more info if you wish, or you may visit the following blog to read an archaeologist’ s article and experience : Return to Ithaca
Take care, dear friends. Thank you for passing by.
